My father's Mom passed in 1957, but not before she could spoil me to the max. We called her big gramma because she was approx. 5' 7", but my mom's mom was only 4' 6" and so she was little gramma.

My question is: What was the name of your favorite pet when you were little?
We had Cocker Spaniel is the first pet I remember who was called Rusty, but after that Mom changed to a Poodle person and he was called, "Peppy". He was great. We also had a Canary we called, "Spot" because he was yellow and had this black spot on the back of his head.

Just dropping by to say hello- I think Java did get the linky up there...
Have a WONDERFUL weekend! Happy Friday!
We didn't have a pet until I was about 14-15 because my Dad never wanted pets and then for some strange reason, he came home with a toy poodle named Fluffy. It was my Dad's friend's dog and he was never home and felt bad for the dog so my Dad took him. For one who didn't want pets, Fluffy was always with my Dad and my Dad even allowed the dog to sit at the table to eat supper with us lol
When I was young I wanted a white kitty, I don't know where Mom found one, but one day she showed up with a white kitty for me, I loved it dressed it in my dolls clothes, that was so much more fun than playing with dolls, it was alive, I just called it Kitty, I said I was young. I now have a white kitty that I call Miss Molly, I got much more creative with age.
Kind of in a rush today - off to work, but I had a few minutes to look around. Great Post you got there Marie. Have a great weekend. Your Grandmother looks like a very loving woman. Thanks for sharing.
Grandpas Mom doesn't look to happy in that photo. It must of been HOT out that day.
Me
Well Babe my cat and Mickey my dog...I miss them!
I have two pet names...
Rowdy & Peaches!! They were GREAT dogs : )
Look at you Miss Dolly, all cute and small standing next to that huge car! :)
I always love to see your old pictures!
My favorite pet was my first dog Max-I grew up with him and he was my BABY! I loved that dog so much.
Have a happy weekend ^.^
LOVE your photos, especially the one of when you were 4yrs old! What a great looking car too. I also like to learn what grandparents are "named" in a family...my hubby and I keep tossing around potential "names" whenever we eventually become grandparents. haha
When I was about 4 years old, I had a sweet, sweet mixed mutt which we named "Rascal". She stayed with my grandparents when we were stationed in Japan.
Blessings & Aloha!
...I've been out of the loop, but happy to stop by this week and say hello.
Your pictures are always so classic!! Love them!! And I agree with Maria..cool car!!!!!
How cute the names you used to distinguish your grammas. I love the photos, as usual.
We didn't have pets when we were growing up, too much work and expense, I guess. Then when we were all grown up my dad got a doberman pincher as a pet named Jodi and then a second one named Jessi.
I guess I'm making up for it now with my 6 doggies. =)
