Friday Photo Flashback, Friday Follow and ALOHA Friday Everyone!

Short amazing story for you.  My mother passed in 2006, and my daughter said, "Mom, you really should put together a family tree for me & the kids so we don't forget our heritage, and before no one is around to ask any questions".  So, I started one on paper & that just got confusing so I went to  To shorten this story some I got an e-mail through from a cousin I never met.  One thing lead to another and she filled in some questions I had & added stuff she knew and we swapped pictures, and stories I've never heard or seen and vice-versa.  It's been fun.  These two fine ladies are my Great Aunts on my father's side.  They were my Great-Grandmother's sisters.

The only one I know of is the no white diet I went on about ten years or so ago.  It did work, but I think with age went my will power, but I'm trying.

Wow is right! Those are really a find for you aren't they. You're sure a good Mom to put that family tree together for your children. Bet that's a lot of work. Have a good weekend.

That's awesome about the ancestry story! Great to hear that it works in real away from the tv ads.

Find a dietician and let them access you and get you on a plan and then you can go from there.

Otherwise, I'd say exercise and diet but it's not always that easy.

I've done a lot of dieting off and on these past few years {a LOT} and I've noticed a few things that work really well for me and my family: Cut out all the nasties in your food {HFCS, MSG, artificial flavors, etc}, base your diet on high protein {80/20 ratio}, and water, water, water, I'm dropping weight like no other!

Good luck on your weight loss journey Dolly-It definitely is a lot of will power too O.o

Those pictures are so amazing-makes me want to go and find some of MY family :)

I always recommend increasing your water intake. People often mistake thirst for hunger!

I am just as excited for you that you are getting all these old photos of your family... I love them. It is so exciting, the photos are beautiful.
The way that I lost the 40 pounds I did last summer (and remember I have limited ability to exercise) was to limit my portions and cut back on fats. I didn't deprive myself of anything actually. I allowed myself my snacks but only in a tiny portion so I wouldn't be craving them and then pig out. Instead of bringing over the whold box of Oreos, I would just bring over 2 cookies. I also made sure I didn't have seconds on my meals.
I also did the exercise I could, walking & swimming, every day. Hope this helps.
