I don't know what it's called, but it's very tasty in the summertime and something fast to put together when you're invited out on a picnic or summer party, and you would like to bring something. So, let's call it ummmm... "CUCUMBERS ON ICE"!
Peel large cucumber and slice
Peel medium onion and sliceMix 1 cup vinegar in a jar
1 1/8 to 1/4 cup sugar (you can also use artificial sweetner mix to taste)
Mix everything together in a bowl and let set overnight.
Put it in a big jar if you like and serve chilled.
So now all you have to do is sign our linky to lead us and/or our guests to you to swap a recipe. Check them all out, and we'll check yours. Cucumbers aren't my favourite.
Me either. There in so many dishes though that I wish I did. Hey....I do like pickles!
I love this dish! I add fresh, peeled tomato pieces as well. I can't wait until my garden starts giving me tomato and cucumber. Looking pretty good so far!!
These are delish!! Sometimes I add a few tomatoes .. . mmmm summertime!

I love fresh cucumbers on ice. My mom used to put them in a bowl with ice water, salt and a little dill. I forgot all about that - thanks for reminding me. I really like to make it with English cucumbers as they have less seeds.
Sounds like a truly yummy salad for the summer.
Do you know I have put on about 5 pounds since we started this meme - UGH!! =) But it is SO worth it.
Mmm...not a combination I would have thought of, but sounds like a good chilled summer salad, thanks for the recipe.
