Remember!!!

I saw this on Facebook and I had to share it with you all!  It really touched my heart!

David Ryan sharing...

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.
Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.
The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.
And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

Cranky Old Man.....
What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?
What are you thinking .. . when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food .. . ... . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . ... lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse .you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. ...Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ... . . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . . . . . life over again.
I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man .
Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. .... . ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within ... . . .
we will all, one day, be there, too!
PLEASE SHARE THIS POEM,
The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched.
They must be felt by the heart.

How ya doin? LOL

Subject: How ya doing?

There I was sitting at the bar staring at my drink when a large, trouble-making biker steps up next to me,  grabs my drink and gulps it down in one swig.

"Well, what are you gonna do about it?" he says, menacingly, as I burst into tears.

"Come on, man," the biker says, "I didn't think you'd CRY. I can't stand to see a man crying."

"This is the worst day of my life," I say. "I'm a complete failure. I was late to a meeting and my boss fired me. When I went to the parking lot, I found my car had been stolen and I don't have any insurance. I left my wallet in the cab I took home. I found my wife with another man... and then my dog bit me.

"So I came to this bar to work up the courage to put an end to it all, I buy a drink, I drop a capsule in and sit here watching the poison dissolve; and then you show up and drink the whole damn thing!"
But, hell, enough about me.

How are you doing?"

FRUIT FLUFF SALAD   MY FAVORITE - YUMMMMMY
.
Ingredients:
– 1 large container of cool whip (make sure its frozen, or slightly defrosted)
– 2 cans of pineapple tidbits
– 3 small cans of mandarin oranges
– 1 small “standard” package of orange jello
– 1 1/2 container of reduced fat cottage cheese (the larger containers)
– 1 1/2 cup of mini pastel marshmallows (I eyeball the marshmallows)
.
Directions: (serves 12-18)
In a large bowl combine cottage cheese and the package of orange jello powder, mix these two together really well. Next add in your semi thawed semi frozen cool whip (if its fully thawed then the salad won’t set up when chilled in the fridge) mix the cool whip in real well. Then drain your canned fruit really well and add all cans of fruit. Be sure to fold the fruit in, making sure you don’t destroy the mandarin oranges. Once the fruit is all mixed in, you can fold in your marshmallows. Smooth out the top of your bowl, wipe down the inside top edges for a clean look (optional, OCD here) cover it and let it chill in your fridge for at least 2 hours or more. Enjoy.

Coconut OIl Pulling helps teeth!

Picture

Okay I saw this on another blog which was
http://www.thetrophywifestyle.com/the-blog-life/coconut-oil-oil-pulling and the info was fab!  So I had to share with my friends in case they have the same problem!  Now you can either go at this link or check a few tidbits from the Post itself below... thanks to Trophywife Style.com for letting me share!  :)

"I
was one of the unlucky people when I was Preggo that had a million teeth fall out! Thankfully they were all back teeth that you can't see when I smile, but still ughhhh....I felt like a freakn hillbilly!!!!. I swear my dentist got a big chunck of his paycheck from me having to rebuild teeth.Unfortunately since I wasn't a lotto winner I had one tooth fixed & rebuilt at a time. It use to suck really bad when I would get random tooth aches inbetween visits! I swear nothing is worse than tooth pain! I seriously would rather give birth than deal with a sucky tooth!!!I tried every home remedy I could find on google and nothing really worked. Then one day I tried oil pulling & haven't had a tooth ache since! I even still oil pull because well my teeth look pretty fabulous do to it's whitening benefits ;-) What is Oil Pulling? Oil pulling is an age-old remedy that uses natural substances to clean and detoxify teeth and gums. It has the added effect of whitening teeth naturally and evidence even shows that it is beneficial in improving gums and removing harmful bacteria! The basic idea is that oil is swished in the mouth for a short time each day and that this action helps improve oral health. Just as with Oil Cleansing for the skin, the principle of “like dissolves like” applies, as oil is able to cut through plaque and remove toxins without disturbing the teeth or gums. The practice of oil pulling started in India thousands of years ago, and from my research, was first introduced to the United States in the early 1990s by a medical doctor named Dr. F. Karach, who used it with success in his medical practice. How to Do Oil Pulling: The concept is incredibly simple. Basically, a person swishes a couple teaspoons of coconut oil in the mouth for 15-20 minutes & then spits it out & rinses well.  Oil pulling is best done in the morning, before eating or drinking anything, though Dr. Bruce Fife suggests that it can be done before each meal if needed for more severe infections or dental problems. Personally I always do it at night before I go to bed ;-)

If you don't have a favorite brand of coconut oil, or if you're new to the coconut oil craz, then look no further! You can purchase some of this fabulousness via Amazon! Nutri Gold has a fabulous ORGANIC coconut oil you can have sent right to you door!!! "

Well there you have it.  I thought it was cool info and I plan to try it myself!  How about you?
