Kreative Blogger Award

Cathy  from Cathy Kennedy's Blog sent me this award.

Thank you my friend!

I feel very proud for I have not been given an award in some time, and usually I don't have the time, but for you I've made time.

Okay here are the rules for accepting this honor:

1. Link back to the one who gave you the award.

2. Share 10 random facts about yourself.

1.  I can play the piano and the accordion.
2.  I love to crochet, but I only know how to make scarves & lap blankets.
3.  Reading puts me to sleep unless it's something that I like right away like mythology.
4. I've always had long hair except once. I had it cut shoulder length when I turned 40 & met my husband the next day & he likes long hair.  That's my kind of luck.
5.  I have graduated from beauty school.
6. I have also graduated from a on-line school to be a legal assistant.
7.  I was a single mom of four with four jobs because I could not find one full time job at the time to feed my kids & pay the bills.
8.  I truly believe with all my heart I have found & married my soul-mate.
9.  When I was a child I didn't play with the other kids to often.  I preferred my friend across the street.  Her name was Antonio & she was in her 80's is all I could remember, but she was very active & taught me many things & I loved to hear her stories from the old country, Sicily,.
10.  The last thing is I love music & I love to dance.  In my first year of high-school there was a talent show & I made up a routine to a song called, "String of Pearls" by Glenn Miller and I danced in front of 500 people.  I came in third place.

3. Pass the award onto 7 other people:
Steph from Glitterbabe
Stacy from Stacy Uncorked
Gillian from A Daft Scotts Lass
Denise from Run DMT

 4. Follow the person who sent you this award.

SOOC SATURDAY!

SOOC Saturday
I'm linking up with Amy @ Marvelous Mommy for SOOC Saturday. (straight out of camera...no editing) I don't remember if I ever tried this, but I had the button in my side-bar, so I'm sure it's there to remind me! Anyway, whether you are a professional photographer, an amateur photographer, or just someone who likes taking pictures (that part is me), our host encourages us to link up!  So here I am trying it out another time. This is a super simple weekend meme that doesn’t take up much time!  Sooooooo, going to give it a whirl, and see what happens.

Straight from my camera we went to see a band last night at a place called the "Chord on Blues".  The band was called Hot Rocks a Tribute band to the Rolling Stones. The lead singer you see in the second pic he sings and acts just like Mic Jagger, and guess how old he is 68 yrs. old!  The band has been together 30 yrs. In the first picture they had a special guest "Bobby Keys" the saxophone player who actually played with The Rolling Stones.  No wonder it was a $15 cover charge.

Have a great weekend!  Don't forget to check out my give-aways!

SHORT AND SWEET - I HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY!

Hi Everyone!  I've got something I want to get off my chest because it's really bugging me.  I understand that PR's/companies want Mom's with young children at home to review their products like toys, movies/cartoons, clothes, vacuums, food, well just everything that has to do with children/young adults that are living at home.  Okay, I understand that, and I know that some bloggers have their hands full with these reps just filling up their mailbox.

Now, I've been a young adult to motherhood to a single mom, worked, and raised four children all by myself.  I had the help of my mom, but mostly my children, and especially my oldest daughter. We worked together, and now they're grown, married, and have given me nine beautiful grandchildren and I have remarried my soul-mate since then, and am very happy with my entire family.

Okay, I'm a blogger now and above is a very short synopsis of my experience with family.  I go to fill out a form, and the first thing are you married - yes.  Do you have children?  Yes.  How many children under the age of 18 live at home?  0.  Thank  you and have a nice day!  How ridiculous and actually unfair is that?  All you ladies out there over 40 and have children that are grown and out on their own possibly or even still at home did you forget how to put a diaper on a baby or how to wash their clothes or take care of them when their sick?  Did you forget what they like to play with or watch on TV or what they should, and should not have or do or maybe forget how to clean house when children are around or fix things or maybe being past 40 we're too OLD to know these things.  Isn't this discrimination?

Do we not have children that come over, and like the old cliche' goes, "Spoil them and send them home", but are they not there?  Do we not take care of them?  Don't some of us watch them while their parents are at work all day long, but yet we still are omitted from these companies to review their products.  CAN SOMEBODY EXPLAIN THIS TO ME?  AM I WRONG OR AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?  I think I'm a pretty good blogger, and aren't we all still learning something new every day?  Do we not by our young grandbabies clothes, toys etc.  Does this not tell us what company to look into and what ones not too?  Nope, don't get it at all.  I personally feel some of these companies should broaden their horizons, and take on the ones that are learning, and keep the ones that have already learned.

Okay, I've said my piece.  I feel better now.  Thanks for listening/reading.
