Unfortunately I have no clue where this is at or what year, but I'm going to take a wild guess that it's in Atlantic City, New Jersey where my Mom & Dad got married.  So, the year would've been 1943 & Dad was in the Army then too, and those are his Army buddies.  Dad is the handsome devil on the right.  hehehe

Same day 1943 - Dad has his arms out!  What a ham!  Typical jock! LOL

Question this week:  This week I'm going to do a little something different.  Here's my question.  Did anyone win a Dale & Thomas Popcorn giveaway?  

Well, I did.  It doesn't matter from who, but it was one of those where three or four blogs were involved with the give-away... well, two that I know for sure (I think there were more).  Anyway, I was contacted that I was one of four people that won around Father's Day this past June.  Time went on & I never got it.  I asked the girl where I entered at & she said she wasn't the main one & yada yada yada you know the rest.  I go to the main one & I let her know... nothing! I don't believe I heard back from her (if I did my memory fails me).  Anyway, I decided to contact them myself this time just the other day (after 6 or 8 e-mails later).  I got a reply today that I'd like to share with you all and the 3 other winners:

I apologize for the breakdown in communication.  As of June 30 Dale and Thomas decided to temporarily close the business and focus on the phenomenal growth of the wholesale business, Popcorn Indiana.

Well, you all know I have a big family, right?  I have eleven.  Whew!  As far as memorial day after just getting home Friday late afternoon maybe evening I think we're just going to rest.  Dave has band practice on Monday I know & me laundry from vacation, pull out the barbie on Sunday and catch up with my blogging.  Have a great holiday weekend everyone!

* These are my mother's two sisters.  My Aunt Tillie & Aunt Nina. The little boy is my cousin Tommy who is now 64 yrs. old.  Across the street there was torn down to build I55, but Grandmother's house still stands until this day. (That's where there at -25th place in Chicago), pretty awesome huh?

My question is: Do you grow a vegetable garden, and if so when are you going to start and what are you growing this year?

Yes I do, but the last couple years its only been tomatoes, but this year we're back in the yard,  I think I can do it this year,  & I do plant tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, and zucchini,

My question is: What color is your front porch?

Answer:  I'll be doing a Post on it soon, but we have a new front porch.  It's a bit different, and I'm trying to get some ideas.  Before our porch was redwood, and we're also have some landscaping done a small patio & small brick wall around the tree.  I was thinking to stain it redwood this time.

My question is:  Springtime - whoopie!  What is your usual thing to do? Cleaning? Gardening?

Answer: Springtime for me means get out the screens, vacuum them, hubby cleans the windows, and I wait until Mother's day and plant  my veggies. I love fresh vegetables. My cleaning comes right after Halloween.  I do my thorough cleaning for the holidays by putting things away for the holiday so there's room for decorations, so empty shelves get polished, mirrors cleaned really good & frames polished & rugs get cleaned etc.

My question is:  What time do you eat supper?

Answer:  My husband likes to eat late & sometimes as late as 9 or 10 p.m. I was raised the family eats together. So I use to wait for him if I could, but if I got hungry sometimes it would be 8 or 8:30 p.m. This is a no no so now because I stay up late I eat no later then 7:00, but most of the time it's 6:30 maybe 6:00.

Not sure if I showed you guys this one or not, but this is my paternal grandmother holding my bride doll & me in the middle, and my mommy - 1955.  What I love to do is to check out what's in the picture like when was the last time you seen one of those coffee pots on the stove or milk in a glass bottle.  MMmmm Is that Pumpkin Pie I see?  Mmmmm Gram's pumpkin pie.  Okay, I'm outta here.

My Dad right before he was drafted and went off to War.  He was a cabdriver, and 19 yrs. old.

My question is:   Okay people I'm on a diet, and other than the old stupid joke when we were kids how do you lose 10lbs of ugly fat?  Cut off your head joke - I'm on a diet and I need to lose weight yesterday.  I have very poor will power.  So any suggestions?  If I could just lose like 10 lbs. kinda quick it all gives me incentive to keep going.  It's this gain a lb lose a lb crap I hate.

Answer:   I'm not using oil on any of the food I cook.  I'm just using the spray if I fry at all.  Mostly salads, microwave or oven/broil.  Eating tons of fish and I'm on the no white diet.  No rice, no bread, no noodles etc.
