This is my family when I was little. My Aunts & Uncles and Grandma (NaNee) on the right, and Grandpa all got together every Sunday for a big Italian dinner. My grandmother was from Palermo, Sicily and was a most fantastic cook. We always had spaghetti as other people have soup for an appetizer. Then would come the three course meal, and you wonder why Italian people are chubby! LOL I truly miss those days when the whole family got together without fail. We were tight, but since my grandparents died now we only see each other at weddings and funerals. Very sad how families grow apart.

My question is: Does your family (relatives) only see each other at weddings and funerals, and if so, how do you feel about that?

Those were the days of love. I love that in our country families come together like that all the time too. or used to.
It is sad that here in America, to me , it seems everyone is so focused on being alone and away.
Great memories to keep and share with your family.

Yes it seems the family one see each other at weddings and a new baby birth....funeral.
I prefer a relationship than just weeping at the grave.
What a special photo to treasure! I love those Italian meals. I grew up on Long Island, NY and most of my friends were Italian. They would have courses of food that I loved.
Blessings and love,
Debbie

I found you on Follow Me Friday.
I love reliving the past with old photos. Unfortunately, my brother took them all from my mom's house, and I only have a few.
I only have a few cousins left on my side, and yes, it is sad that we never see each other.
I just live each day trying to make happy memories with my kids and grandkids.
Fun picture. Reminds me of dinner at my grandma's.
Thanks for stopping by to say hi! I see you do as many Friday memes as I do :-) Have a great weekend!
Sad to say that my answer is yes. I wonder if its because our generation has so much on our plates, that we don't make the time to see extended family members. I remember as a child, we would visit family every weekend, my dad had 7 brothers/sisters so it was routine to get together with them often.
