 In a story inspired by true events, Sam, a twenty-something, fast-talking salesman, is tasked with fulfilling his estranged father’s last wishes—delivering an inheritance to a sister he never knew he had.

From DreamWorks Pictures comes “People Like Us,” a drama/comedy about family, inspired by true events, starring Chris Pine (“Star Trek”) as Sam, a twenty-something, fast-talking salesman, whose latest deal collapses on the day he learns that his father has suddenly died. Against his wishes, Sam is called home, where he must put his father's estate in order and reconnect with his estranged family. In the course of fulfilling his father's last wishes, Sam uncovers a startling secret that turns his entire world upside down: He has a 30-year-old sister Frankie whom he never knew about (Elizabeth Banks). As their relationship develops, Sam is forced to rethink everything he thought he knew about his family—and re-examine his own life choices in the process.

What can I tell you?  I love Michelle Pfeiffer in any movie she does, and this sounds like a real life drama/comedy that could possibly happen.  I didn't read that it did so I can't tell you that, but I for one am definitely going to see this one.  Anyone game?  Have a great day!

“War Horse" is a tale of loyalty, hope and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War. “War Horse” begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.

The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse—an odyssey of joy and sorrow, passionate friendship and high adventure. “War Horse” is one of the great stories of friendship and war— a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is currently on Broadway. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

This movie looks like it's going to have us on the edge of our seats.  Guess I know where I'm taking my grandkids the week after Christmas while they're still home.  My oldest granddaughter loves horses.  I don't believe they've wrote a story since Flicka.

Dream Works' REAL STEEL Prize Pak Review & Give-Away

DreamWorks Pictures’ REAL STEEL opens in theaters everywhere this Friday, October 7th!

      “Real Steel” is set in the near future, where robots have replaced boxers in the ring, and is directed by Shawn Levy (“Night at the Museum,” “Date Night”). Starring Hugh Jackman (“X-Men Origins: Wolverine,”) as Charlie Kenton, a financially strapped, risk-taking former boxer who now makes his living on an underworld robot boxing circuit, operating the metal pugilists that made his human profession obsolete.

Jack Hughman has always been one of my favorite actors.  I can hardly wait until this movie comes out on Friday, October 7th!  We have a IMAX Theater (I'm not sure if this movie will hit the IMAX screen everywhere, but it is by me)  right by our house, and we're heading there on Friday!  Woo Hoo!  DON'T MISS IT!
