My living room has three long shelves on one wall separated by a clock.  On the left is my husband's family, and on the right is my family.  Ancestors, and wonderful memories that makes a house a home. WORDFUL WEDNESDAY - PUR WATER FAUCET FILTER!

For this review & Give-Away I was sent a Faucet Mount, and yes as you can see off to the left is my PUR Water Filtration Pitcher, and to the right yes, I do recycle cans.  ~hehe~ Believe me when I found out that the city I live in has to treat our water because of the old water pipes etc. (upcoming post), I knew I had to do something, and I did.  You all walked down that road with me trying to find out what was going on, and I thank you.  Now my bloggy friends I want you to reap the rewards with me too.  Here is a filter that will give you good clean, fresh water.  I drink, and cook with it now.  This faucet mount has a new easy push & click installation, and my husband had it all installed in a matter of minutes.  My "Musical Handy Man", he's so nice to have around sometimes!  Okay... and this filter has a new Space Saving design with an Electronic Filter Life Indicator.  Now, I really like that; NO GUESSING!  I know right when to change the filter, and speaking of changing the filter it comes with a owners manual with instructions on how to change the filter, and you know what I think they had me in mind (blushing here)!  PICTURES!  Yes, pictures on how to change the filter.  PUR, I love you!  Talk about making my life easier. ~snicker~  Look there's me in the filter!  HI!

This is our latest addition to our home.  Another PUR buddy who loves us, and wants to keep us healthy! HOT DOG!  This water is so refreshing.  I got to tell ya!  I made lemonade the other day, and man I said to myself, "Self!  I remember this taste when I was a kid.  mmmm Sure is good!"  Well, I'm getting use to this taste really fast, and I've noticed other places I drink water I CAN tell the difference if it's been filtered or not, and the NOT, is soooooo NOT!  Did you know that PUR water filters removes 99.9% microbial cysts, cryptosporidium and giardia from your water?  DANG!  That's good percentage for me.  The filter capacity lasts up to two to three months/100 gallons.  PUR also gives your a One Year Warranty with this filter.  PUR you're so nice to me!

BOUNTY PAPER TOWELS

Oh boy, here's what I received the other day "BOUNTY"! I won at A Nut in a Nutshell   thank you Blue Violet.  So, thick & absorbent.  Keeps on working, and they aren't kidding!  Let me tell you when I go shopping I usually go generic all the way to save a few pennies.  You're definitely not saving with generic paper towels though.  Key word here "paper", and that's very, poor quality paper.  Dang, these towels are nothing but paper the generic ones!  They fall apart looking at them for heavens sakes!  Okay, so maybe I exaggerate a little...NOT!

Bounty is like a cloth rag.  I took one, and felt it even rubbed it against my face, and mmm soft, and it felt like my dust cloth actually, which is an old tee shirt (those work the best for polishing).

I'm also a cooker.  I don't bake well, but I sure can cook!   Now when it comes to grease oh, boy, hand me the paper towels, and lots of them! I love bacon, but it hates me.  I still make it for my husband, but he doesn't need any extra grease.  I used one folded up sheet of Bounty, and you could have put the plate back on the shelf.  Here's a little example.  I made soft-boiled eggs the other day.  I put our shells in a paper-towel.  I had generic (on the left) and then of course my NEW BOUNTY (on the right):

I went to pick it up to throw away, and what a mess on the left, and I'm in love on the right!

Okay, next job.  Repaint the garden statutes.  They're all white, but any paint is messy especially when I'm doing it.  I made a test.  I put one statute on a generic sheet and one on a Bounty Sheet.  The generic sheet stuck to the table and the Bounty sheet did not.  I then took that same sheet and dampened it, and wiped down my stove, cabinet counters, frig door, AND the breakfast counter.  I rinsed it, added a little soap, and washed my kitchen table.  After the kitchen table I wiped down my husband's desk (nasty), and then mine.  Rinsed, and then used it in the bathroom to scour the bathroom sink.  Nah, it's going to fall apart right!  WRONG!  I then went back into the kitchen rinsed out that original sheet and hung it over my faucet.  Let me tell you I didn't believe those commercials, but I'M A BELIEVER NOW!

SUPER THICK BOUNTY, I LOVE YOU!  Now, where's that bag of rags so I can give it to the hubby for the garage.  They're not needed in here anymore ~~

My question is:   What was your favorite doll when you were a kid, and what kind of games did you play with them?

Mine had to be Barbie, but I also had a Connie Stevens doll that I liked too.  I use to make clothes for them out of the cuffs of socks!  And made their own house in my drawer of my dresser, and played for hours.

On the way to my son's house I saw this on the side of the road.  It startled me at first, but then I saw it was some sort of an exhibit.  I googled it, and this is what I found I thought I'd share with you.  Norway, Illinois
Down the road from the understated Norwegian Settlers Monument, is a startling sight. A small, two-prop passenger plane, burrowed nose down into the ground, a partly smashed and gutted hulk.
Don't bother looking for survivors. It's the Agricultural Crash Monument, "Dedicated to all farmers and Ag related business folks that have lived thru the 'Agricultural Crash' of the 1980's." It is owned by Mervin and Phyllis Eastwold, or at least that's what the sign said when we last saw it.

My question is:  What was your favorite game as a kid?

Well, if it was an outside game I use to love to do double dutch jump rope (I found a video for you see it in the previous post) or softball (I was a bit of a tomboy), and board games I loved playing a word game called Probe with my Dad and family.  My Dad and I came up with the same word one time.  We laughed for days about that.

Okay, short post here to let everyone know I'm still alive!  I've been transcribing quite a bit lately, and doing a few reviews for stroller.com  Now, I'm off to the store, and I'm still only going on about five hours total of sleep at night.  Going to doctor tomorrow to see what's up.  I'll give you an update tomorrow!  Hugs to all, and I'm still drinking a really good cup of coffee thanks to my PUR Water Filtration Pitcher.  Oh, and I did send our Village Hall another e-mail because I'm trying to get some answers.  It went something like this:

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am a curious citizen, and a blogger, and first of all I want to say I'm NOT trying to create waves. I'm just trying to get some answers.

I did a post on my blog regarding my coffee, and what it looked like.  I asked everyone in my blogging community if they knew what it was & what I should do.  Almost everyone said check the water.  Well, I did and I wrote another post praising PUR Water Filtration Company.  I have before and after pictures of my coffee posted if you'd care to see.   http://thenewxmasdolly.blogspot.com/2010/03/whats-in-my-coffee-part-ii-solution-pur.html

The PUR Water Filtration Company was nice enough to send me a new pitcher free to do my experiments with the water, plus I did a give-away for my readers.  PUR company's website is amazing in what they do for the citizens world, and for our water (i.e. Haiti).  I'm wondering maybe they make some sort of filter for a plant for a city.  A filter that is supposed to last two months or so lasted me about a month.

As far as the water pipes in our home they are brand new as of a year and a half ago.  Is there anything you can tell me about our City's water that I should know about?  Maybe send me some pamphlets.  I sure would appreciate it to cure my curiosity.  Thank you so very much.

I know I can't believe it myself, but hey what's in a number, right? God luv ya! HOW U DOIN? I started blogging on my birthday last year, so I have a "1" year anniversary coming up on June 13, 2010. I'd really like to do something special on my blog, but I just haven't decided what yet. So, stay tuned, don't touch that dial, we'll be right back after this break for station identification. ~hehe~ Now, I'm a retired legal secretary, and now I run a business out of my home as a transcriptionist. It's a few extra dollars, and it keeps me busy sometimes. I've typed up interviews of Hugh Hefner, Sam Lay also closed captioning for Speed and Monster Jam just to name a few. I am a mother of five children. One child passed of S.I.D.S in 1977, and my other four beautiful children have given me nine beautiful grand-children.

Why did I start blogging? My daughter whom you all may know already is NightOwlMaMa. I'm so proud of her. She's doing a bang up job over there you really need to go check her out. Plus she started something fairly new you may be interested in. It's called Content for Comments:

LOL Anyway it all started with a diet I had started last year. I lost about 32 lbs., but I really haven't been keeping track of it lately due to trying to Spinal Stenosis really acting up again & a few other problems. I'm on medical disability, and that's a long drawn out story that's very boring, so we won't go there. So, I asked my daughter what should I write about. She said whatever you like (isn't she cute)! Be it a product or movie, family, whatever. Well, I wrote about what I knew the best, and that's my family. I've made so many new, and wonderful friends (and I don't say that lightly), from all over the U.S., and I think further. I'm totally addicted to blogging, and give-aways are so cool, and doing them is just as cool. I love researching the product, and finding out all I can to share with you. My question is:  April Showers brings May flowers, and the bees and bugs, and time to take out the screens and clean those, and clean the yard, and throw out the old shrubbery from last year.  So, here's my question:  Who does all this work you or the hubby???

.Those are pretty flowers aren't they?  Nope not mine I just thought they were pretty.  I couldn't have those by my house.  Allergic to bees ya  know, but my husband does all the yard work now ever since I had back surgery in 06'.  He's a good ol' boy!  He likes doing it anyway, but he won't pull a weed to save his soul!  LOL...

1. I love road trips.
2. I love all kinds of music. It just depends what mood I'm in.
3. I am the last one left of my family I grew up with of my Father, Mother and Brother.  These are three of my guardian angels.  I have a few more. ~~hehe~~!
4. I love to crochet in the winter time.  My mom taught me the basics, and I've been trying to learn more ever since.
5. I learned to play the accordion when I was ten, and as time went on & I was developing quickly & being well endowed my boobs use to get caught in the bellows, so my dad attached a thin cushion in the back so I wouldn't get caught any more.
6. My kids learned many songs when they were little & now my grandchildren are learning them because we always sang in the car.
7. I love ice cream.  I can eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
8. I'm allergic to iodine.  Therefore, sometimes I have to take a benedryl when I eat ocean fish.
9. I use to sing in a Rock & Roll band called "Perfect Chaos" and played the keys.  In my teens I also sang background for a band called, "Johnny Apollo & his Apaches, and I also use to race cars when I was 18.  I drove a 55 Chevy that was boarded out to a 301 & raced at the U.S. 30 in the Powder Puff Derby.
10. I love Christmas.  I swear I must be related to the old dude Claus or an elf or something.  If there's a Christmas display in a store I am so there.  When I go to the second hand shops that's the first thing I look for.  I love lots of lights.  The more the better. 

I received this award back on March 24th, and I am ashamed to say it got lost in the shuffle.  I apologize from the bottom of my heart my friend.  So, I would  now like to publicly thank my dear sweet friend, and let's all say a silent prayer for her today because she is on her way to get some surgery done on her back & that's no picnic!  I definitely know that.  SO HUGS FROM ALL OF US Cheryl at CMASH loves to read, who is also the young lady that gave me this award.

Wordless Wednesday - Where it all began!

These are my Maternal Grandparents.  They were both born in Palermo, Sicily.  My Grandfather Thomas is 21 yrs. of age, and my Grandmother Adeline (Nellie) was 14 yrs. of age.









And thIs young man happens to be NightOwlMama's oldest boy, Ryan my first born grandchild, my grandparents great-great grandson whose birthday is today.  He has turned 21.  He is the first in our family to graduate college at ITT Tech.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY RYAN!!!
