Winner Announcement from Ended Give-Aways of 12.10.10

Escape to a world of fantasy, thrilling adventure, and magic warms the heart!

The Magic Warble
 by Victoria Simcox
Published by Two Harbors Press
ISBN 978-1-935097 17-4

As I read this story it became more of a place that I could go to, and forget about reality, and hide within the realm of the author's fantasy.  The author had a way to pull you in with emotional thoughts, and heartwarming scenes, but yet keep you on the edge of your chair.   At times they were a bit complex, but as you read on you were back in a comfort zone smiling and giggling at the author's whimsical way of explaining a scene.

I am very happy to announce that the winner of "The Magic Warble" is

HOLIDAY TAG

Holiday Tag

I was tagged by my Cyber-Sista, Cheryl at CMash Loves to Read.  Cheryl has tagged me, and I have no idea what this is all about, so I'm wingin' it here Sista!!  She has a very well put together blog, and is probably one of the best readers in the world, and why we hit if off is beyond me because reading puts me to sleep.  Although I did shock her one day, and I READ A BOOK!  LOL  So, if you read, and you want to know about books, head on over to Cheryl's at the link above, and check out her blog.  Tell her Dolly sent ya... well, maybe not she might laugh to hard!   So, let's get this tagging stuff on the road..

1.  When do you usually know and feel that it's finally the holidays?
When I smell turkey on Thanksgiving.

2.  What do you want for Christmas this year?
I've asked Santa for a Laptop this year, but I don't think Santa knows how to buy one so I'm really not sure if I'll get one, but I'm sure I'll get my bath powder with a cool powder puff.  I love that stuff.

3.  Do you go all out with decorations?
They use to call me Mrs. Claus, and people thought they were at the North Pole, but since my back has been giving problems I have downsized considerably, and believe me it does sadden me deeply.

4.  What are you doing Christmas Eve?
Every year we spend it with my husband's family.  One year it's at their house, and then mine.  We take turns.

5.  What are you doing Christmas Day?
My husband, and I will wake up, have coffee, and open presents.  Later I will make brunch, and a small dinner not sure what yet.  This year our Christmas will be the day after, and all my children will be there with their kids, and my brother and his wife.  Pictures, fun, Lasagna, open presents make a mess, and then everyone will go home and I'll fall asleep on the couch.

6.  It's Christmas time. What are you reading?
Nothing right now, but I just finished reading the Magic Warble.  Totally loved the story, and can't wait for Part II.

7.  Favorite movie to watch during the holidays?
I have all of the Christmas movies ever made.. or at least you would think so, and I watch them every year.  Favorite?  They are all my favorites.  The first one I watched this year was Scrooge, and then It's a wonderful life.  Today I watched Polar Express with my granddaughter after we came back from the show.  We saw The Chronicles of Narnia Part III.

8. Favorite Christmas song?
I like Brenda Lee's Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree and Naturally Nat King Cole, The Christmas Song, and what would Christmas be without Bing!!!  White Christmas!

9.  Favorite holiday drink?
Frozen egg nog and brandy & a squirt of whip cream.

10.  How is your Christmas shopping going?
Not sure.  I shop all year long, and I forget what's hidden in the closet.  I need to check that out before I shop anymore.

11.  If you could spend Christmas Day anywhere else, where would you spend it?
I'd like to go back in time, and spend it by my gramma's house with my family.  It was the happiest days of my life.

12.  Any holiday traditions?
No, not really.  Not anymore since my parents and grandparents are gone.  The relatives just didn't keep them up.

13. Favorite thing about the holidays?
Being with all my children and family and PRESENTS AND DECORATING!  LUV IT.

The three bloggers I would like to tag are:

POETIC JUSTICE

I got this in an e-mail the other day, and I wanted to share with you all.  Personally my friends what's wrong with this picture???

This puts it in perspective that criminals are treated better than the older generation who worked hard and abides by our country's laws.....

Jails and Nursing Homes

Here's the way it should be:

Let's put the seniors in jail and the criminals in nursing homes.

This would correct two things in one motion:

Seniors would have access to showers, hobbies  and walks.

They would receive unlimited free prescriptions, dental and medical treatment, wheel chairs, etc.

They would receive money instead of having to pay it out.

They would have constant video monitoring, so they would be helped instantly... if they fell or needed assistance.

Bedding would be washed twice a week and all clothing would be ironed and returned to them.

A guard would check on them every 20 minutes.

All meals and snacks would be brought to them.

They would have family visits in a suite built for that purpose.

They would have access to a library, weight/fitness room, spiritual counseling, a pool and education...and free admission to in-house concerts by nationally recognized entertainment artists.

Simple clothing - i.e.. shoes, slippers, pj's - and legal aid would be free , upon request.

There would be private, secure rooms provided for all with an outdoor exercise yard complete with gardens.

Each senior would have a P.C., T.V., phone and radio in their room at no cost .

They would receive daily phone calls.

There would be a board of directors to hear any complaints and the ACLU would fight for their rights and protection.

The guards would have a code of conduct to be strictly adhered to, with attorneys available, at no charge to protect the seniors and their families from abuse or neglect.

 As for the criminals:

 They would receive cold food.

They would be left alone and unsupervised.

They would receive showers once a week.

They would live in tiny rooms, for which they   would have to pay $5,000 per month.

They would have no hope of ever getting out.

  =======================
"Sounds like poetic justice to me!"

You tell them, Aunt Mitz!!!

Update on Aunt Mitzi:  She's in the hospital with a cold & fever, but is doing well.  Maybe coming home Friday.  I'll be visiting her then.  I love you, Aunt Mitz.  Your Dolly's comin'!  Woo Hoo!  Got candy too! shhhhh!
