Story Harbour, vol. 1 Review

These wonderful stories on a CD performed by Zette Harbour is a Parents Choice recommended award winner.  When I first got this I thought BORING!!!  I was wrong and I want to apologize to Ms. Zette Harbour.  When I was a child I absolutely loved Grimms Fairy Tales, and I still do until this day.  These stories were so very much like them.  After I received this CD I grabbed it one day when I was to be doing errands to get it over with.  Well, let me tell you I drove to my first appointment, and listened to the first story, "Anansi & Stories West Africa", and so here I am in the parking lot waiting to finish the story.  Very interesting I thought.  The next was Master of all Masters, England.  Cool story.  The following story "The little old woman who lived in a vinegar bottle".  Oh my gosh, I totally loved this story.  I would venture to say this would be a great story to play in the car for the kids to keep them calm down and interested.  Plus Zette Harbour has this wonderful soothing speaking voice, and perfect for telling stories.

There are three more stories.  The Crane Wife.  Japan, The Sound of The Money - Jewish, and The Inkeeper's Clever Daughter.  I think my most favorite one is, "The Crane Wife".  I stayed in  my car to finish each and every story as I did my errands, and boy did I get my errands done quickly that day because I couldn't wait to get back in my car.  Here's a little taste.

Truly you need to check this CD out for your little ones.  What a great stocking stuffer it would be too.  I thought of giving my copy to my daughter, but I don't think I can part with it.  Soooooo, I played it again for my granddaughter in my car & she loved it too.  I guess it'll become part of my collection to keep my grandbabies entertained along with myself.  I think each and every story also teaches a lesson, which is so good for the children.  What wonderful stories.  I'm sure you will like them as much as I did.  Check out her website for more information.
