"Blaze of Glory" by m. garzon / Review

Blaze of Glory!

Published by VBW

Synopsis:

A young girl's life dealing with her family, and friends, but more importantly her passion for horses.  Her adventures are very well planned out, and yet kept you in the story to want to turn that next page.

"Tea couldn’t risk the family harmony of my entire extended clan just to gratify her own desires; that would be appallingly selfish, and she didn't want to risk alienating them, they were the only family—and only home—that she had. She turned the question over in her mind, but no matter what angle she viewed it from, the answer remained the same. Her only option was to learn to suppress her feelings."

In Tea's young life she was facing life's challenges head on, and making her own decisions, but she seemed to be tossed if they were wrong or right.  Her love for horses kept her driven in one direction though.  I thought at first this book was just a story about horses, and I found out after a few pages into it that it wasn't only about horses.

MY THOUGHTS and OPINION

I was amazed when I requested to review this book because I am not an avid reader to be quite honest with you.  Therefore, I felt not being one, this story should get an honest review/opinion.  When I got the e-mail that I would be getting a e-book I wasn't sure at first if I wanted it, but I felt obligated at first, but as I started to read I really couldn't stop.  In reading the brief synopsis of this book it was about all the things that I knew would interest me, and keep me awake (reading puts me to sleep).   When I was young I went to day-camp, and every Thursday I remember we went to a place called, "The Francis Recker school of horsemanship".  I love horses, and I believe my granddaughter who is 13 loves them too, and I wanted the story for her, but it seems now I've related her into the story.  I have been interested horses, and the author explains training horses, their care, and teaching to ride in detail.  The author goes on to talk about trials and tribulations that the main character "Tea" has to go through.  A young girl dealing with family, rules, and friendship.  As time went on in this story she even learns about love, and the other emotions that goes with it including jealousy.

So many things the author would explain I could relate to when I was young or relate to what my granddaughter may have to go through soon.  Even a few nights my husband had to have a late supper because I was reading, and I kept saying at the end of this page, at the end of this chapter, and well... they weren't too late.  I believe this book would be good for any young adult to any mother/grandmother to read, and thoroughly enjoy.  The author had a way to pull you in with emotional thoughts, suspense and heartwarming scenes, but yet keep you on the edge of your chair.   At times they were a bit complex, but as you read on you were back in a comfort zone at the author's defining way of explaining a scene very pictorially.

Now, I don't want to give too much away here, but this story..  well, let's say Christmas would be a great way to open up a new world for your young adult in the home or relative/friend.  Stocking stuffer?  Definitely.  Birthday present?  Of course.  Just because you care?  Most assuredly.  Enjoy... I did!
