Cucumber Uses!

13 Uses for Cucumbers That Will Amaze You

cucs-article

Cucumbers are very easy to grow, and great for snacks, diets, and very cooling in the summer, but did you know they can prevent hangovers or clean the kitchen sink?

Tips & tricks you can do with cucumbers!

1.  Cucumbers contain most of the vitamins you need every day, just one cucumber contains Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B6, Folic Acid, Vitamin C, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium and Zinc.

2.  Feeling sluggish in the afternoon? Pick up a cucumber! Cucumbers are a good source of B Vitamins and Carbohydrates that can provide that quick pick-me-up that can last for hours.

3.  Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower? Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror.  It will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.
4. Are grubs and slugs ruining your planting beds? Place a few slices in a small pie tin and your garden will be free of pests all season long. The chemicals in the cucumber react with the aluminum to give off a scent undetectable to humans but drive garden pests crazy and make them flee the area. (ooooo I like this one)!

5. Looking for a fast and easy way to remove cellulite before going out or to the pool? Try rubbing a slice or two of cucumbers along your problem area for a few minutes, the phytochemical in the cucumber cause the collagen in your skin to tighten, firming up the outer layer and reducing the visibility of cellulite. Works great on wrinkles too!!!

6. Want to avoid a hangover or terrible headache? Eat a few cucumber slices before going to bed and wake up refreshed and headache free. Cucumbers contain enough sugar, B vitamins and electrolytes to replenish essential nutrients the body lost, keeping everything in equilibrium, avoiding both a hangover and headache!

7. Looking to fight off that afternoon or evening snacking binge? Cucumbers have been used for centuries and often used by European trappers, traders and explores for quick meals to thwart off starvation.

8. Have an important meeting or job interview and you realize that you don’t have enough time to polish your shoes? Rub a freshly cut cucumber over the shoe, its chemicals will provide a quick and durable shine that not only looks great but also repels water.

9. Out of WD 40 and need to fix a squeaky hinge? Take a cucumber slice and rub it along the problematic hinge, and voila, the squeak is gone!

10. Stressed out and don’t have time for massage, facial or visit to the spa? Cut up an entire cucumber and place it in a boiling pot of water, the chemicals and nutrients from the cucumber will react with the boiling water and released in the steam, creating a soothing, relaxing aroma that has been shown to reduce stress in new mothers and college students during final exams.

11. Just finish a business lunch and realize you don’t have gum or mints? Take a slice of cucumber and press it to the roof of your mouth with your tongue for 30 seconds to eliminate bad breath, the photochemical will kill the bacteria in your mouth responsible for causing bad breath.

12. Clean your faucets, sinks or stainless steel.  Take a slice of cucumber & rub it on the surface you want to clean, not only will it remove years of tarnish and bring back the shine, but it won’t leave streaks and won’t harm you fingers or fingernails while you clean.

 13. Pen marks. Take the outside of the cucumber and slowly use it to erase the pen writing.  Also works great on crayons and markers that the kids have used to decorate the walls!

Building confidence in students one child at a time!
What a powerful statement that is.  Don’t you agree?  Well, that’s what 1 to 1 tutor is all about.  They asked me to let all my readers know about this wonderful program to all you mothers out there that are either sending their young adults to school or even home-schooling, and if that young person needs a little extra help.  A little “1 on 1 tutoring”.
At 1 on 1 Tutor they totally understand that your high school years are busy, and time passes in a blink of the eye. Before you know it, you have missed a deadline, or reduced the window of opportunity by not being fully prepared or completely informed. Below you will find important information that will help you plan and prepare for the most important time of your life, the time leading up to the college admission process.
For example:  If you're a senior,  and you have fallen behind in the college admissions process, there's still time to catch up. The SAT is given in October, November and December of your senior year all of which will meet the application deadline for 90% of colleges and universities. (Note early decision and early action deadlines are typically November of your senior year, so October would be the final test option), and above all prepare before taking your SAT or ACT test. These tests are integral to  the college admission process.
You can receive this tutoring from the comforts of your own  home.  Are you trying to get a college degree?  They can surely help with that too.  1to1Tutor is one of the Top Leading Online Education Companies in US.   Since its inception in 2005, they have been a pioneer in the education space providing quality online tutoring to students across the US, at a very affordable price.  They have tutored over 30,000 students and served over 500 school districts of US as well.  They also help the students to ace the SAT/ACT.

KNOW THIS ABOUT TICS! I HATE BUGS!

I FOUND THIS ON FACEBOOK AND I WANTED TO SHARE THIS WITH ALL OF YOU!
This could be the most important thing that you see me post! Its an epidemic this year, and these things are as lethal as a venomous snake in the wrong senerio! Please not only read it, but share it! Make sure we get the word out about these tics and the disease they carry!

It's summer! Time for camping, hiking and getting outside to play. Don't let those pesky annoying ticks stop you. Here's how with a simple homemade solution!

Repellent for your pets:

For pets, add 1 cup of water to a spray bottle, followed by 2 cups of distilled white vinegar. Ticks hate the smell and taste of vinegar, and will be easily be repelled by this ingredient alone. Then, add two spoonfuls of vegetable or almond oil, which both contain sulfur (another natural tick repellent).

To make a repellent that will also deter fleas, mix in a few spoonfuls of lemon juice, citrus oil, or peppermint oil, any of which will repel ticks and fleas while also creating a nicely scented repellent. Spray onto the pet's dry coat, staying away from sensitive areas including eyes, nose, mouth, and genitals. When outdoors for an extended period, spray this solution on two to three times per day.

For you and your family:

In a spray bottle, mix 2 cups of distilled white vinegar and 1 cup of water. To make a scented solution so you do not smell like bitter vinegar all day, add 20 drops of your favorite essential oil.

Eucalyptus oil is a calm, soothing scent that also works as a tick repellent, while peppermint and citrus oils give off a strong crisp scent that also repel ticks.

After mixing the solution, spray onto clothing, skin, and hair before going outdoors. Reapply every four hours to keep ticks at bay, and examine your skin and hair when back inside to make sure no ticks are on the body.

Kilter - Does anyone know this game? Question!

This is a game called Kilter that I received in the mail, and I haven't a clue who I got it from.  I checked my mail, and google and Tomoson.com (for those who are familiar with), and I cannot figure out where I got it, and it's been about a month or longer since I received it, and I have not done a review or anything on it, and no one has contacted me.

Has anyone else received an item like this?  Please leave a comment below.  Thanks.
