"The Cross". I just had to share!

We All Know That The Cross Can Save Lives. But How It Saved This Man's Life is Just Plain SHOCKING!  I had to share this story from "God Vine"!  I love the stories she shares.  Thank you so much!

Like many inspiring movies and books, this short story may be fictional. However, the impact that this work will have on its readers is very real. Enjoy!

The Cross

The power of the cross...an incredible story

In 1967 while I was taking a class in photography at the University of Cincinnati, I became acquainted with a young man named Charles Murray, who was also a student at the school and training for the summer Olympics of 1968 as a high diver. Charles was very patient with me, as I would speak to him for hours about Jesus Christ and how He had saved me. Charles was not raised in a home that attended any kind of church, so all that I had to tell him was a fascination to him. He even began to ask questions about forgiveness of sin. Finally the day came that I put a question to him. I asked if he had realized his own need of a redeemer and if he was ready to trust Christ as his own Savior. I saw his countenance fall and the guilt in his face. But his reply was a strong 'no'. In the days that followed he was quiet and often I felt that he was avoiding me, until I got a phone call from him. He wanted to know where to look in the New Testament for some verses that I had given him about salvation. I gave him the references to several passages and asked if I could meet with him. He declined my offer and thanked me for the scripture. I could tell that he was greatly troubled, but I did not know where he was or how to help him.

Because he was training for the Olympic Games, Charles had special privileges at the University pool facilities. Sometime between 10:30 and 11:00 that evening he decided to go swim and practice a few dives. It was a clear night in October and the moon was big and bright. The University pool was housed under a ceiling of glass panes so the moon shone brightly across the top of the wall in the pool area. Charles climbed to the highest platform to take his first dive. At that moment the Spirit of God began to convict him of his sins. All the scripture he had read, all the occasions of witnessing to him about Christ flooded his mind. He stood on the platform backwards to make his dive, spread his arms to gather his balance, looked up to the wall and saw his own shadow caused by the light of the moon. His shadow was in the shape of a cross. He could bear the burden of sin no longer. His heart broke and he sat down on the platform and asked God to forgive him and save him. He trusted Jesus Christ twenty some feet in the air. Suddenly, the lights in the pool area came on. The attendant had come in to check the pool. As Charles looked down from his platform he saw an EMPTY pool that had been drained for repairs.

He had almost plummeted to his death, but the cross had saved him from disaster.

I want to give you a "HUG" AND now I know why!!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE HUGS! It makes me feel exceptionally good inside. Whenever I write a note I always put hugs, Dolly. I don't care if I just met you hugs is my signature. Why you say? Well, I think it's time you know the true meaning of a "HUG"!
So I found this article, and when I read it I said to myself, "Did someone jump inside my head and pull a bunch of stuff out and put it on paper"? Well, here what it says!
Hugging (and also laughter) is extremely effective at healing sickness, disease, loneliness, depression, anxiety and stress.
Research shows a proper deep hug, where the hearts are pressing together, can benefit you in these ways:
1. The nurturing touch of a hug builds trust and a sense of safety. This helps with open and honest communication.big hug
2. Hugs can instantly boost oxytocin levels, which heal feelings of loneliness, isolation, and anger.
3. Holding a hug for an extended time lifts one's serotonin levels, elevating mood and creating happiness.
4. Hugs strengthen the immune system. The gentle pressure on the sternum and the emotional charge this creates activates the Solar Plexus Chakra. This stimulates the thymus gland, which regulates and balances the body's production of white blood cells, which keep you healthy and disease free.
friends5. Hugging boosts self-esteem. From the time we're born our family's touch shows us that we're loved and special. The associations of self-worth and tactile sensations from our early years are still imbedded in our nervous system as adults. The cuddles we received from our Mom and Dad while growing up remain imprinted at a cellular level, and hugs remind us at a somatic level of that. Hugs, therefore, connect us to our ability to self love.
6. Hugging relaxes muscles. Hugs release tension in the body. Hugs can take away pain; they soothe aches by increasing circulation into the soft tissues. (i likes that one a lot ~hehehe~)
7. Hugs balance out the nervous system. The galvanic skin response of someone receiving and giving a hug shows a change in skin conductance. The effect in moisture and electricity in the skin suggests a more balanced state in the nervous system - parasympathetic.
8. Hugs teach us how to give and receive. There is equal value in receiving and being receptive to warmth, as to giving and sharing. Hugs educate us how love flows both ways.
9. Hugs are so much like meditation and laughter. They teach us to let go and be present in the moment. They encourage us to flow with the energy of life. Hugs get you out of your circular thinking patterns and connect you with your heart and your feelings and your breath.
10. The energy exchange between the people hugging is an investment in the relationship. It encourages empathy and understanding. And, it's synergistic, which means the whole is more than the sum of its parts: 1 1 = 3 or more! This synergy is more likely to result in win-win outcomes.
Ladies
From my family (me & my two girls taken last year at one of Dave's gigs) to yours... HUG!!! Did you ever notice in pictures what do people do to pose??? HUG!!!
There is a saying by Virginia Satir, a respected family therapist, “We need four hugs a day for survival. We need eight hugs a day for maintenance. We need twelve hugs a day for growth.” Eight or more might seem quite high, but while researching and writing this article I asked my child, “How many hugs a day do you like?” She said, “I'm not going to tell you how many I like, but it's way more than eight.” That really made me smile and touched my heart. And, I realized how organic and deep the need for hugs is.

What do all these pictures have in common????   HUGGING!   Go look at your pictures right now and go see if 9 out of 10 of those pictures if there's more than one person they're hugging to pose!!!  So there ya have it!  When someone writes Hugs, NAME... IT'S ALSO... wishing you well, and I want to help with a HUG!  So it you're not doing anything right now and someone else is in the house get up and go give them hug, and when they say what was that for you just tell them... "... just because I care".

 hugs & kisses
AND YOU THOUGHT I WAS BEING MUSHY!!! LOL

BODYARMOR (premium sports drink in which Posey is a partner and investor in) sat down with World Champion and MVP Buster Posey to get a behind the scenes look at the superstar in this exclusive interview.

MY STORY:

Okay, let me tell you my story now, which all of you probably know already.  I've been battling the bulge ever since I was ten... and then in 2006 I have begun to fight even harder because of my Spinal Stenosis, and I was told if I lost weight the pain won't be there so much in my back.  Well, I've been taking Vitamin D, a colon cleanser, and something called Garcina something or other... you all know that.  Yes, I have lost some weight, but that's another Post.  I do get dry mouth a lot, and especially when I exercise.  I use to feel drained when I exercised, but now with Power Go I can go a bit longer.  Woo Hoo, and their variety is totally cool.  You really need to try it like when you bicycling, or at the gym, or making on a brisk walk or jogging keeping your water level where it's supposed to be.  Here for example:  The other day my grandson's better half who is pregnant was feeling really bad so they took her to the ER. Well, to make a long story short she was dehydrated from all this humid, hot and sticky, yucky weather (but we've had some great weather at night, which is what that counts right?  ~hehe~

BODYARMOR which is a sports drink packed with (echo affect here)...

More Electrolytes + Vitamins + Coconut Water + Natural Flavors

You really need to try some, and they're tasty too!  I know when you try one you'll head back for a case!  :)
