Therefore, our hostess is asking a simple question for you to answer; nothing that requires a lengthy response. If you’d like to participate, just post your own question on your blog and leave your link at the very friendly place of Islandlife808.com. Don’t forget to visit the other participants! It’s a great way to make new bloggy friends and find new followers!
My question is:  When do you plant your vegetable garden, AND my granddaughter and I planted an Oak tree (she's says it's Oak - not sure) that she got for Earth Day.  We planted it on Easter.  It looks like a twig, but it does have a bud at the top.  Is there anything special you're supposed to do for it other than let it grow?

I was told to plant after mother's day, but I'M STILL WEARING MY WINTER COAT!!!  I know nothing about tree planting. It's on my front porch in a big planter.  We're going to replant it when it gets bigger.

Wasn't that fun?  ~hehe~  Have a Great Weekend Everyone, and THANKS for stopping by, and following me.   Oh!  Don't forget about "MONDAY'S MUSIC MOVES ME".    This Monday  is the theme is "Songs about the weather or any color".  Whoa, that's a challenge!  As I said before every other week is a freebie week, the other weeks we have a theme.  Hope you  ALL can make it. It's tons of fun & don't forget bring a friend!  Hell, bring lots of friends.  We broke our record last we and hit 40 music lovers.  THANK YOU TO ALL WHO PARTICIPATED.  HUGS TO ALL.  Let's do it again and try for "50"  woo hoo or HIGHER!!!!   So, come on it's time to ROCK & ROLL!   Have a great weekend!  ROCK ON!

Your Dad was a very handsome man, and did he come from a family of all boys? His Mom looks like she has great character too! Have a great weekend Dolly, and I love the new look. You are for really a Christmas Dolly aren't you! lol

I'm definitely not the green thumb advice expert. I have a terrible time keeping things alive.

I just planted some lilies myself, and I'm hoping for the best!

I'm clueless when it comes to planting anything, so I can't help you with the garden question. Gorgeous pictures.

I always LOVE seeing your old pictures! They're just too cool for words! :)

I usually do my big planting over Memorial Day weekend - that's when we can pretty much count on no last-minute frost from Mother Nature. ;) I sometimes do some seed starting between now and then in the house or my green house so they'll already be hardy to go in the ground. :) As for your new little twig tree, just make sure to water it every day for a week or so, and I'd recommend putting mulch around the base to keep the ground warm and moist. :) Have a great weekend! :)

I love the idea of a cab driver in the 1940s. I am sure my idea of it is far more romantic than it actually was though. lol

I'm a terrible grower, so you're guess is way better than mine.

It is suggested where I live that you don't start planting until after Mother's Day because of frost. Every tree is different. I once bought a pin oak on clearance for $10 that looked half dead. The tree is huge and amazing right now.

Have a great Friday!

Love the blog makeover!!! Who did it?

And I"m not a green thumb so I'm clueless.

I'm just going to start scattering seeds from now on.

No wonder those Hawaii 5-0 guys have so much energy - they get an EXTRA day of rest??? What's the deal - I pay taxes too and I only get 5 minutes to myself and Hawaiians get the weekend PLUS Friday. So JEALOUS!! W.C.C.

It is so much fun to look at old photos...I could look at them all day, especially of this era and earlier...even if they are not of any of my family members. When antiquing, I like to look at photos like these, that I come across...I always wish I had more of the "stories" behind them...

Blessings & Aloha!

Your dad looks so YOUNG! He looks too young to even be a cab driver. Lol

As for your question, you are asking the wroooong person-I'm not a gardener. I swear, I have the blackest thumb ever O.o

Good luck with it though!!

I love the pictures of your family. You have such a sweet, loving family as can be seen from all the photos that you show from then and now. I would love to be a part of your family.
As for the questions about gardening... wrong person here. Two years ago, I planted 28 bulbs and only ONE flower came up - HaHa!
Bill is pretty good with plants, but we have never planted a tree - it's against the rules in our HOA unless you jump through hoops to get ARC approval, and THAT is a real PITA!!
Good luck with your tree, I think that is a really sweet thing to do.
